Man, 35 Busted For Stealing 18 Goats At Suhum
The Suhum Police command has arrested has arrested a 35 year old man, Yaw Antwi and one other who was identified as Asamoah, for stealing 18 goats at Anyinam and its environs in the Eastern Region.
The two suspects were using a vehicle with registration number, GT 6383 Z in their operation when they were apprehended by the Police, but the suspect identified as Asamoah managed to escape.
Confirming the arrest to akoraonlineradio.com, Chief Supt. Joseph Owusu said they were on their normal routine duties when the suspects’ vehicle was stopped at a check point at Asuboi, in the Eastern Region.
According to Supt. Owusu, the suspects were looking suspicious when they were stopped.
The suspects then run away when they realized that they were in danger but was chased by the Police until they were arrested at Dovlo in the Greater Accra Region, where the one identified as Asamoah escaped the arrest.
He said the suspects admitted that the goats were stolen at Anyinam and its environs in the Eastern Region, to be sold to Chop Bar operators in Accra.
Yaw Antwi who is currently in police custody is a native of Kwahu Mpraeso in the Eastern Region but lives in Awoshie in Accra.
However, Chief Supt. Joseph Owusu has encouraged Ghanaians to feed them with information to help them flash out criminals out of the system.
He assured the public of their safety when they provide information about criminal activities in their respective communities.
