When they destroy the farms, they have about forty five (45) tipper trucks waiting to convey the Sand to an unknown destination with a man at the farm recording the proceeds with pen and paper.
They don’t leave anything behind, they cut down trees with chain saw and carry them away, pluck Oranges, Coconut and even carry some of the foodstuffs home.
The situation at Nerebehi now demands an immediate intervention as more are yet to be destroyed.
The helpless farmers are on their knees, calling on His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll to intervene before the worse happen in the community.
These farmers now buy food from outside, and to even get money to buy whatever they need has become a problem as their only source of living had been destroyed without any compensation.
MEETING WITH THE CHIEF
akoraonlineradio.com together with a Kumasi based Boss Fm booked an appointment to meet the chief executioner at his residence.
Nana Owusu Afiriyie ll kept us waiting for more that two hours, when he finally appeared with an able bodied Man (Macho man).
Before one could say something, the chief, out of anger said, the media cannot do anything because he believes he’s doing the right thing
In a 16 minutes 44 seconds audio recording available to akoraonlineradio.com and Boss Fm, the Chief said he has no business with these farmers whom he described as strangers and are only farming on the land, and even if it becomes necessary to compensate them, it would be a plot of Land.
So you ask yourself, what would a farmer, whose twenty five (25) acres of farmlands have been destroyed do with a plot of land?
Virtually the Chief did not say anything convincing to even calm the farmers who believe their lives have come to an end.
